Picture the employees that represent your business. Now picture the players in your favourite sports team. Compare the body shapes, the energy and the attitude. Consider how determined your employees are to maintaining a level of body function, fitness and stability that allows them to effectively perform daily critical tasks.
It’s not ‘how’ your staff move, it’s ‘can’ they?
Enter R&R’s functional capacity testing.
This preventative and worthwhile initiative involves efficient and specific range of movement testing that results in collection of confidential, de-identified data that provides businesses with a staff/team health and functional profile, and ultimately an injury risk profile of workgroups. Along with R&R’s bio-impedance internal health testing, functional capacity testing creates the ultimate, measurable program.
Each staff member undertakes a series of exercises and stretches aimed at assessing capacity to perform critical tasks, and provides a plan to improve range of motion and/or decrease discomfort and pain.
Upon completion of the testing R&R presents a comprehensive report that addresses individual and collective:
- Individual and collective range of motion
- Presence and location of pain/restriction
- Presence of existing complaints/injury
- Potential injury risk
As with all other R&R training initiatives, we work closely with the clients Health & Safety personnel to create a functional capacity test aligned to the tasks their employees perform on a daily basis.
Functional Capacity Testing can:
- Provide valuable insight into the health profile of your business
- Increase accountability for employees to take care of themselves
- Improve employee manual handling performance
- Decrease risk and incidence of workplace injuries
This initiative ties into the fact that businesses have become schools for public health. It is when employees get fitter and stronger that they not only perform their role more dynamically, but turn the state of Australian health in the right direction.
