Health at Work Presentation
For the past 16 years Matthew Beechey has been immersed in the health industry, eight as a registered nurse and eight as a massage therapist and health educator in the corporate setting. Matthew’s passion is fuelled by his work with severely ill and challenged people who provide continuous inspiration to make the most out of life whilst healthy.
Matthew's punchy, 1.5 hour, “tell-it-how-it-is” sessions have had a noticeable impact on companies. Participants are finding the sessions informative and motivational.
The presentation covers the following topics;
- understanding stress (how stress effects the function of internal organs, cells and muscles)
- the impact of chronic stress on behaviour and energy
- avenues/ways of dealing with stress (exercise, using work breaks effectively, stress supporting foods, counseling etc)
- learning a basic stretch routine to be performed at work and home
- learning a series of core stability exercises (use of deep low back and abdominal muscles) – aimed at prevention of musculo-skeletal complaints
"Healthy life a simple choice" - Sunraysia Daily - Feb 15, 2008
STUDENTS at Mildura Senior College learnt the importance of making “healthy choices in life” at a Your Health Your Choice seminar this week.
The seminar taught the importance of eating well, getting enough sleep, tuning into the power of the mind and steering clear of alcohol and drugs.
R and R Corporate Health director Matthew Beechey travelled from Melbourne to deliver the seminar.
“All Year 11 and 12 students attended my talks and we focused on a number of topics important for getting through not just their VCE but also life in general,” he said.
“It’s basically about making good choices, realising their dreams, setting goals and trying to reach them.”
